It is described as of outstanding architectural and historical significance and interesting associations with Mary Queen of Scots.Queen Victoria has resided in the castle as has King George IV and Sr Walter Scott.Accommodations; The accommodation comprises 7 reception rooms and 30 bedrooms of various sizes including serveral gallery bedrooms.
