Property Description
Built in 1676 and originally Charles II's hunting lodge, the Best Western The Speech House is set in the heart of the Royal Forest of Dean within easy reach of the main access roads. The public areas of the hotel and much of the beamed Verderer's Court reflect the former use of the Best Western The Speech House as a courthouse to the Foresters. Several of our bedrooms have four-poster beds and all have been carefully refurbished so that they retain their original charm. No matter what time of year you choose to visit, the forest is a wonderfully tranquil beautiful place with hundreds of species of flora and fauna, deer, rare birds as well as numerous sign posted walking trials of varying distance and difficulty. After exploring, you can relax with a drink while deciding whether to enjoy a snack in the bar or lunch in the Brasserie. In the evening, you have the added choice of the restaurant menus, which include local venison and live lobster. The Best Western The Speech House is the perfect venue for your business or conference meetings with a choice of rooms and a location that is distraction free. For a wonderfully relaxing break in the countryside close to many historical attractions including nearby cities, come and stay at the Best Western The Speech House Hotel. Guests must pre-book all leisure facilities prior to arrival.
