The Rocco Forte Chateau de Bagnols, now restored to its former glory, offers its guests a spectacular journey through the history of France. A 13th century castle, the Rocco Forte Chateau de Bagnols is located in the French Beaujolais region. The antique furniture and the specially commissioned decorative items were made by some of the world's finest craftsmen. Antique beds are hung with period velvets and embroideries from the owner's collection. Every detail has been carefully studied to give guests a unique experience of tranquil countryside living.All of the rooms and suites are decorated with antique furniture, some with tapestries or wall paintings dating back to the 15th century. Guest roomsEach of the chateau's 21 bedrooms and suites is unique. Many have original wall paintings and most have four-poster beds. All bedrooms have antique furniture and furnishings and are designed to allow guests to unwind totally in an atmosphere of complete self-indulgence.All bedrooms are equipped with satellite television, two phones, voice mail, internet connection, safety box. Air conditioning is available in some rooms. Most of the large bathtubs are dressed with Italian marble. The chateau is located around 28km north-west of Lyon in the heart of the beautiful Beaujolais wine country, with stunning views overlooking the valley. This area is known as the "Golden Stone Region", due to the sand-coloured stone that is specific to the locality and that is used in the construction of buildings, resulting in a warm and welcoming look. Bagnols is the ideal stop-over between Paris and the French Riviera or ski.
