AccommodationsEach of the 75 suites and 145 bedrooms are individually furnished and provided with fully appointed private bathrooms and individually controlled air conditioning. In addition, each is equipped with satellite television, CNN, international touch-dial telephones, voice mail and a safe. Refrigerators and minibars are provided in all rooms except Single Rooms. A local daily newspaper, robes, hairdryer, and bottled water are also included. A private fax line is available on request in some rooms. Modem hook-ups are also provided. There are two non-smoking floors comprising 23 rooms. A unique feature of The Mount Nelson Hotel is its four new wings of luxurious accommodations, all set in private gardens planted with lavender and iceberg roses. These wings - Taunton House, Green Park, Helmsley, and Hof Villa - are reached from the main hotel via the leafy Palm Avenue. Guests staying in them enjoy unrivalled serenity and seclusion, and are, of course, entitled to use all the hotel's facilities, including the two outdoor heated swimming pools, with their superb Table Mountain backdrop.
Single Rooms
These cozy rooms consist of a single bed and private bathroom, but do not include a refrigerator or minibar. All the rooms are located in the main hotel with excellent views overlooking the garden or facing Table Mountain.
Inner Facing Rooms
All Inner Facing Rooms face inwards with twin or king beds. Most of the rooms have renovated bathrooms. The rooms are situated in the main hotel.
Superior Rooms
The Superior Rooms are spacious, elegant and functional and ideal for quiet, out-of-town work or relaxation, with either twin or king beds and offering Table Mountain, garden or pool-facing views. All rooms have a separate sitting area, and the bathrooms vary in size. Situated in the main hotel and in the Green Park complex.
Luxury Rooms
Luxury Rooms have a light and easy atmosphere and are the same as Superior Rooms but with a larger sitting area and bathroom. Some of the rooms are interconnecting in the Green Park complex and other Luxury Rooms are situated in the main hotel and Taunton House. Understated old-world charm is complemented by practical modern luxury for the discerning traveler. All rooms have magnificent views.
Single Suites
There are five Single Suites available and they are situated in the main hotel. All rooms offer a separate lounge and a small bathroom, and afford views of Table Mountain or the hotel gardens.
Medium and Junior Suites
These suites are very spacious, with a comfortable lounge and separate double bedroom with large ensuite bathroom, and offer magnificent views of Table Mountain, the hotel gardens or the city. There is one inner-facing Junior Suite. Some of these rooms interconnect with a Superior Room, making them ideal for families. They are tastefully decorated in pastel shades by international designer Graham Viney. Medium and Junior Suites are situated in the main hotel and Palm Avenue.
Executive Suites
Executive Suites are larger than Medium Suites, with beautiful views and spacious lounges, some of which are open to the bedroom, and feature newly renovated bathrooms. They are situated in the Helmsley complex and Taunton House.
Deluxe and Garden Suites
These are large, one-bedroom suites, some with interconnecting separate lounges. They are located in the gardens in Palm Avenue and offer views of the garden.Garden Cottages are situated across from the main building. These suites have private gardens and balconies, a spacious lounge and kitchentte.
Luxury Suites
All these suites are situated in the main hotel and feature an entrance hall, large lounge and dining room, and main bedroom. Some have two bathrooms. Luxury Suites are very spacious and have spectacular views of the garden and pool.
Penthouse Suites
There are two Penthouse Suites (with interconnecting option) in the Green Park complex with panoramic views of Devil's Peak, Table Mountain and Signal Hill. Penthouse Suites are available as two- or three-bedroom suites, and services include dual etension telephone systems, private fax line, executive check-in, and full suite bar. All suites have a kitchentte.

Directions
* Proceed from the airport complex onto the N2 highway in the direction of City or Cape Town (the other direction will be Somerset West).* Continue along the N2 highway past all the off-ramps until the M3 merges to form five lanes of traffic.* Keep as far left as possible, as you need to proceed along De Waal Drive (the other lanes branch into Eastern Boulevard).* Continue along De Waal Drive which winds its way around the foot of Table Mountain.* As you pass under an overhead walkway, slow down and turn left into Mill Street (if you continue, the road becomes Roeland Street).* Continue along Mill Street (which then changes its name to Orange Street), passing through two sets of traffic lights.* Before the pedestrian traffic lights on your left-hand side are the Prince of Wales Pillars, signifying the entrance to The Mount Nelson Hotel.
The Mount Nelson is just 20 minutes' walk from the city center and 20 minutes by road to Cape Town International Airport. The hotel is perfectly located for visits to the National Botanical Gardens at Kirstenbosch, the Table Mountain Cableway, the scenic fishing village of Hout Bay and glorious Groot Constantia, the oldest wine estate in the country.

Well known in Cape Town as a venue for large and medium size functions, this elegant, chandeliered setting is decorated in grand style and lends itself to wedding receptions, product launches and exhibitions. It comprises three interconnecting rooms which may be used in various formats, according to client needs. Standard facilities in The Ballroom include a four-microphone input system and four-track tape deck, with playback facility. The Garden RoomOriginally designed as the hotel's main dining room, this imposing venue is a much-recognized keepsake of the hotel's last-century history. Adjacent to The Cape Colony Restaurant, it features a sweeping entrance, topped by a unique, recessed orchestra balcony. Wood-panelled walls offset impressively ornate murals and high, barelled, pressed ceilings. Windows overlook the hotel gardens. The Lady Hamilton Room and Verandah
