Al Alam Palace
Unfortunately the Sultan's Palace can only be seen from outside. Nevertheless its gold and blue columns wrapped in wrought iron are impressive, as is the overall shape and silhouette. The palace and the harbor are protected by twin Portuguese forts.

Qurm Park & Nature Reserve
The largest park in Muscat is home to the Sultan's Rose Garden, the City Amphitheatre and the children's museum. The park is known for its fountain which shoots water up to 30 meters in the air and is lit at night. On weekends the park opens at 09:00am.

Forts & Ruins
Oman has more than 500 forts, castles and towers. The most famous once in Muscat are the twin Portuguese forts Jalali and Mirani, who protect the Al Alam Palace and date back to 1588. Unfortunately it is not possible to enter them.

Shatti Al Qurum Beach
Renting a bike from the Bait Al Bahar Boathouse, located on the hotel premises, will let you explore more of the area around the hotel. The promenade along the beach becomes lively in the evening. It is a pleasant spot to enjoy the sunset.
