Directions

Bodrum, formerly Halicarnassus, is a port city in Mu?la, in the southwestern Aegean Region of Turkey. It is located on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, at a point that checks the entry into the Gulf of Gökova, facing the Greek island Kos. The city was called Halicarnassus of Caria in ancient times and was famous for housing the Mausoleum of Mausolus, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Today, Bodrum is an international center of tourism and yachting with a permanent population of approximately 120,000 which expands manyfolds during the vacation season. Bodrum Castle, built by Crusaders in the 15th century, overlooks the harbor and international marina.
