Aiming to offer a new vantage point on some of the worlds most celebrated music and artists, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in partnership with Abbey Road Studios, have launched a two month music centered showcase titled Abbey Road Studios and the Worlds Greatest Music. Taking place for the first time in China, at the iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel from September 23 to November 22, 2013, the showcase will present to the public a rare opportunity to appreciate the studios legendary Challen piano and a photo exhibition celebrating Abbey Road Studios milestones and landmark recordings. Played by musical legends including the Beatles and Pink Floyd, among other world renowned artists, the 1964 vintage multi tone jangle box Challen piano holds an illustrious history. Considered one of the most precious historical pieces of music memorabilia, it was used by famous British rock band the Beatles to record some of their masterpieces including Tomorrow Never Knows, Ob La Di, Ob La Da and Old Brown Shoe. The photo exhibition will include exclusive pictures commemorating Abbey Road Studios 80 years of history. The Challen piano will be displayed throughout the exhibition period. Admission is free. In celebration of the exclusive exhibition, a four course gastronomic dinner menu at RMB 788 and RMB 988 with wine pairing, excluding discretionary service charge will be served at the hotels fine dining restaurant The Cathay Room from September 23 to November 22, 2013. The third live performance featuring world class and award winning singer star Wanting Qu, who will be playing on the legendary Challen Piano, accompanied by the worlds oldest jazz band, Peace Hotel Old Jazz Band at half past six on Monday, Nov 18, 2013.
