Since the opening of the bridge Limfjordsbroen in 1933 Vesterbro has been the main street of Aalborg. Here the statue Cimbrertyren is situated and it reminds of the doughty Cimbri who emigrated from Himmerland 2000 years ago and went all the way down to Italy before they were effectively stopped by the Romans.
