Frauenkirche
Frauenkirche church overtops the Dresden skyline. The reconstruction of the Frauenkirche is an impressive symbol of international reconciliation after World War II.
Hofkirche
Built 1738-54 in Baroque style by Gaetano Chiaveri. Largest church in Saxony. Cathedral of the Dresden-Meissen Diocese since 1980. In the crypt you will find the sarcophagus of the Wettins and a case containing the heart of Augustus the Strong.
Militärhistorisches Museum
The Military History Museum of the Bundeswehr, together with the airforce museum, is one of the major military history museums in Germany. The museum is under the technical and administrative chain of command of the Military History Research Institute.
Fürstenzug

Schloss Moritzburg

Festung Königstein

Schloss Pillnitz
Pillnitz Palace, the former summer residence of the Saxon royal court — the main palace wings were built 1720-22 for Augustus the Strong — is today the Museum of Decorative Arts. The best known sight of this quarter is the Japanese-styled chateau.

Dresden Neustadt
Blaues Wunder
The steel-girder construction of the suspension bridge, which was built 1891-93 to connect the districts Loschwitz and Blasewitz, was considered a technical wonder at that time, too. The bridge owes its name »Blue Wonder« to its light blue paint.
Schloss Dresden
First mention of a castle some 700 years ago. A palace comprising four wings was built in the late 15th century. Renaissance-style enlargement 1548-56. Its characteristic copper Baroque cupola was restored in 1991.
