Opened in 1863, The Astor Hotel is a step back into a bygone era. The hotel has undergone several restoration and expansion programs in 1886, 1924 with a second building added in 1984. It is now an icon of Tianjin, classified as a revered national heritage building by the Chinese government. The Astor Hotel is centrally located in Tianjins progressive financial district facing the Hai He River and Green River and backing on to Victoria Park, and is a mere 35 minutes drive from the airport.
