The Hotel Coronado and the Expo-Congress are strategically located near the A2 highway in Mendrisio, 200 metres from the road to Varese, Malpensa Airport (Milan), Chiasso, Como and Milan itself. Mendrisio, with its sub-tropical climate, is the main town of the Mendrisiotto region in the southeast part of Switzerland that borders Italy. This beautiful area is located below the Monte San Giorgio which was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. The famous Monte Generoso and the beautiful scenery of Lakes Ceresio, Como Varese and Maggiore, as well as the many walking and bicycle tracks and other leisure facilities offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy direct contact with nature. In Mendrisio itself, there is the new University of Architecture, the Regional Hospital (OBV) and there are also several museums, including the Swiss model railway exhibition. The hotel belongs to Motor Rest SA, which is part of the Piccadilly Group. It is scheduled to open by Easter 2006.

The CORONADO GRILL SANT?AGATA spoils individual guests and groups alike with its fine haute cuisine. This restaurant is also ideal as a banqueting hall for families and company events. The MONTE ORSA MONTE SAN GIORGIO and CLUB ROOM SAN NICOLAO meeting-rooms may also be catered by the hotel kitchen .
